This summer I’ve restarted a recent exploration of sculptural organic forms based on seaweed, rocks, clouds and molecules. My colors and textures reference reptilian skins, flowers, shells, rocks and water, sometimes realistic and sometimes blended into hybrid combinations that at times may seem incongruous.

Process

I sketch as well as photograph and record video from nature to force direct observation and memorize details and form and record observations of time and place, sun and shadows.
